Petitions give our community a powerful way to drive change in the Legislative Assembly.
If you have an idea for a petition, send me an email ([email protected]), and I’d love to hear it.
As a local and vocal Member for Brindabella, I bring forward a wide range of petitions to deliver meaningful outcomes for our community. You can explore the petitions I have championed below.
I sponsored a petition from the ACT Ice Sports Federation calling for urgent progress on the long‑promised Canberra Ice Arena in Greenway, noting the severe shortage of ice‑sports infrastructure, the ageing Phillip facility, and the growing concern within the community about delays and shifting priorities from private partners. The petition asked the ACT Government and its development partners to deliver the state‑of‑the‑art venue in Tuggeranong as committed.
The petition was signed by 889 residents, and I tabled it in the Assembly on Wednesday 25 February 2026.
The Government has not yet responded to the position.
I sponsored a petition highlighting parking shortages at the Tuggeranong 55 Plus Club, noting that the club’s 850 members rely on limited on‑site spaces, nearby time‑restricted bays, and an under‑used government‑managed carpark. The petition asked the ACT Government to increase member parking, adjust street‑parking arrangements, and assess accessibility and safety between the nearby carpark and the club, including the feasibility of a pedestrian crossing.
The petition was signed by 799 residents, and I tabled it in the Assembly on Tuesday 2 September 2025.
I sponsored a petition calling for repairs to the Wanniassa Hills Fire Trail, which has deteriorated to the point of causing drainage issues for nearby residents and discouraging community use of the nature reserve. The petition requested resurfacing the 2‑kilometre trail, restoring drainage systems, scheduling regular gutter maintenance, and repairing the stone retaining wall.
The petition was signed by 250 people, and I tabled it in the Assembly on Tuesday 13 May 2025.
